The CinePearl Take
Miyu Sasaki’s understated performance as a widowed teacher navigating her estranged son’s return is the film’s emotional core, delivering nuance without melodrama. Ōmori’s deliberate pacing lets the scenery breathe, making each sunrise and starlit night feel like a character in its own right. Thematically, the movie explores how personal loss can be softened by communal ties and the simple act of looking up.
