The CinePearl Take
Director Shoojit Sircar balances slapstick moments with heartfelt beats, letting the story breathe without ever feeling preachy. Ayushmann Khurrana shines as Vicky, delivering a performance that’s both goofy and oddly tender, while Yami Gautam provides a grounded counterpoint. The pacing stays lively, and the film’s underlying message about unconventional families feels surprisingly progressive for its 2012 release.
