Why Watch This
Ryuhei Kitamura injects the iconic thief Lupin with a modern, kinetic flair, turning the classic caper into a high‑octane joyride through Tokyo’s neon underbelly. The film blends slap‑stick comedy with expertly choreographed set‑pieces, rewarding fans of both action and the original manga.
Best For
Action fans, Heist lovers, Anime fans, Japanese cinema buffs, Comic book enthusiasts
The CinePearl Take
Kitamura’s direction never lets the momentum drop, delivering a relentless barrage of stunts that feel fresh despite the familiar source material. Gō Ayano shines as the cool‑headed sharpshooter Jigen, providing a grounded counterpoint to Shun Oguri’s flamboyant Lupin. While the comedy lands most of the time, the film’s rapid pacing occasionally sacrifices character depth for spectacle.
