Why Watch This
Dark Nuns blends claustrophobic convent settings with a relentless supernatural menace, delivering a fresh spin on the haunted‑house formula. Director Kwon Hyeok‑jae layers Korean folklore with modern anxieties, turning every candle‑lit corridor into a visual and psychological threat.
Best For

The CinePearl Take
Kwon Hyeok‑jae’s direction is unapologetically slow‑burn, allowing the dread to seep in before the story erupts into visceral terror. Although the cast is largely unknown, lead nun Sister Mi‑young (played by a breakout newcomer) delivers a hauntingly restrained performance that anchors the film’s emotional core. The recurring motif of shattered stained glass mirrors the characters’ fractured faith, making the thematic exploration of belief versus doubt both visual and unsettling.
