Best For
Folk horror fans, Eco‑thriller enthusiasts, River adventure lovers, Indie horror seekers, Mythology buffs
The CinePearl Take
Mike P. Nelson’s direction keeps the tension taut, letting dread build through long, sound‑driven takes rather than cheap jump scares. Newcomer Lúcia Carvalho delivers a compelling performance, balancing curiosity and terror as her character documents the river’s secrets. The film’s pacing slows at just the right moments, allowing the mythic weight of the Boiúna to seep into every frame, while the underlying environmental commentary adds a resonant thematic layer.
