The CinePearl Take
Vikram’s magnetic turn as the roguish courier Vallavaraiyan Vandiyadevan anchors the film’s emotional core, while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan commands every frame as the enigmatic Nandini. Ratnam’s pacing, though deliberate, rewards patient viewers with layered character arcs and a crescendo of battle sequences that feel genuinely monumental. The production design and Ravi Varman’s sweeping cinematography turn each palace and battlefield into a living tapestry of history.
