The CinePearl Take
Riedel’s direction leans heavily on tension rather than cheap jump scares, allowing the dread to build as the crew uncovers a forgotten pre‑human ecosystem. The standout performance comes from the lead biologist, whose quiet desperation anchors the film’s emotional core. While the pacing occasionally drags in the middle act, the final confrontation delivers a visceral payoff that underscores the film’s theme: humanity’s hubris in tampering with forces beyond its comprehension.
