The CinePearl Take
Director Marc Pierschel lets the villagers speak for themselves, resulting in a narrative that feels less like a lecture and more like a conversation. The pacing is deliberately unhurried, mirroring the tide‑bound life it portrays, and the recurring motif of the old lighthouse serves as a powerful visual metaphor for hope amid uncertainty. While the film lacks a traditional “hero,” the collective voice of the community becomes its most compelling performance.
