The CinePearl Take
The film’s quiet pacing lets each interview breathe, allowing viewers to absorb the nuanced anecdotes about ties from tailors, designers, and everyday wearers. Théry’s choice to focus on texture—close‑ups of fabric, stitching, and the way a knot settles—creates a tactile experience rarely achieved in documentaries. While the narrative sometimes drifts, the overarching theme of how personal style reflects larger societal shifts remains compelling. It’s a modest yet thought‑provoking addition to the documentary canon.
