The CinePearl Take
Kim Sung‑han‑I’s direction is disciplined, letting the story unfold at a measured pace that mirrors the lingering dread of the era. A breakout performance by a newcomer (credited only as “the pilot”) anchors the film, conveying quiet desperation without melodrama. The screenplay shines when it juxtaposes the macro‑political fallout with the micro‑psychology of the hijack’s victims, making the tragedy feel both personal and universal.
