Why Watch This
Marcelo Gomes paints an intimate portrait of a teenage girl on the brink of adulthood, using the quiet rhythms of a small Brazilian town to explore universal themes of longing and self‑discovery. The film’s gentle visual poetry and raw, unflinching performances make it a standout entry in contemporary Latin American cinema.

The CinePearl Take
Lead actress Michele Abreu (as Paloma) delivers a hauntingly natural performance, capturing the character’s fragile optimism with barely‑there gestures. Gomes’s pacing is deliberately measured, allowing the scenery and ambient sounds to become characters in their own right. The film’s central theme—cinema as an escape—resonates powerfully, turning everyday moments into visual metaphors for hope.
