The CinePearl Take

Irrfan Khan’s understated, brooding Maqbool anchors the film, while Tabu’s ferocious Nimmi redefines Lady Macbeth for the streets of Mumbai. Bhardwaj’s atmospheric score and muted color palette heighten the sense of inevitable doom, though the deliberate pacing may test viewers accustomed to faster‑cut action. The film’s exploration of power’s corrupting lure feels timeless, making it a standout in Indian noir.
