The CinePearl Take
Paul Clemens gives a surprisingly nuanced performance, conveying both teenage angst and the creeping dread of an unstoppable mutation. Philippe Mora’s direction leans into atmospheric dread rather than cheap scares, allowing the film’s pacing to build tension methodically. The central theme—how much of our identity is inherited versus chosen—adds a psychological layer that elevates the movie beyond a typical monster flick.
