The CinePearl Take
Nina Meurisse delivers a tour‑de‑force performance, capturing Julian’s fierce idealism and quiet vulnerability with equal precision. Laurence Roothooft provides a steady, grounding presence as Julian’s skeptical mentor, allowing the film’s slower, reflective moments to breathe. Kusters’ pacing is deliberate, letting the emotional stakes build without sacrificing narrative momentum, and the recurring motif of water underscores the film’s environmental heart.
