The CinePearl Take
Balagov’s deliberate pacing allows the tension to build slowly, mirroring the protagonist’s internal turmoil. Riley Keough delivers a quietly powerful performance, anchoring the film’s emotional core with a blend of vulnerability and resolve. Meanwhile, Barry Keoghan’s brief but electrifying cameo adds a jolt of unpredictability that underscores the film’s themes of longing and displacement.
