The CinePearl Take
Guerschuny crafts a sharply observed portrait of a man navigating an unconventional family arrangement, anchored by a breakout performance from the teenage “son,” whose deadpan delivery injects both humor and heartbreak. The film’s pacing oscillates between languid, reflective scenes and sudden bursts of absurdity, mirroring the protagonist’s emotional turbulence. Themes of belonging, commodified love, and the thin line between duty and desire unfold without sentimentality, making the movie an unsettling yet compelling meditation on what truly defines family.
