The CinePearl Take
Shun Oguri delivers a ferocious, haunted performance as Lieutenant Saito, capturing both his relentless drive and crumbling sanity. Miike’s signature kinetic editing never lets the pulse drop, while Lily James adds an unsettlingly calm foil as a mysterious fixer. The film’s exploration of corruption and redemption feels fresh, even as it revels in over‑the‑top brutality, making it a polarizing but undeniably unforgettable entry in his catalog.
