The film’s relentless visual rhythm and stark sound design make it a visceral experience that lingers long after the credits roll.

The CinePearl Take
Lead actor Yūki Tanaka delivers a hauntingly detached performance that anchors Ishii’s chaotic aesthetic, turning every cardboard silhouette into a mirror of societal disconnection. The pacing oscillates between breath‑less chase sequences and meditative stillness, reinforcing the film’s meditation on confinement versus freedom. While the narrative can feel deliberately opaque, its thematic focus on identity in a hyper‑connected world feels eerily prescient.
