The CinePearl Take
Sharni Vinson delivers a breakout performance, evolving from a reluctant dinner guest to a fierce survivor with a cool, calculated edge. Director Adam Wingard keeps the pacing relentless, punctuating the suspense with inventive set‑piece kills that feel both shocking and oddly playful. The film’s subversion of the “final girl” trope—giving the protagonist a secret training background—adds a fresh layer of empowerment without sacrificing the genre’s visceral thrills.
