Why Watch This

Haddi delivers a visceral, low‑budget look at a young wrestler’s struggle against tradition, poverty, and his own self‑doubt. The film’s unflinching handheld camera work and a pulse‑pounding regional soundtrack make the stakes feel immediate and personal.

The CinePearl Take

Akshat Ajay Sharma’s direction is spare yet purposeful, letting the protagonist’s bruised performance carry the emotional weight. The pacing drifts deliberately, mirroring the protagonist’s own hesitation before each bout, while the recurring motif of broken mirrors underscores the theme of fractured identity. Though the narrative occasionally stalls, the authenticity of the setting and the raw energy of the fight sequences keep you invested.
