The CinePearl Take
Kleber Mendonça Filho and Juliano Dornelles craft a razor‑sharp rhythm, letting tension build in measured beats before exploding into kinetic set‑pieces. The ensemble cast—especially the stoic village elder—anchors the film’s allegorical weight while delivering raw, grounded performances. Themes of collective memory, colonial exploitation, and community solidarity pulse through every frame, making the narrative both timely and timeless.
