The CinePearl Take

Kanneganti’s debut is a bold, if uneven, exploration of identity and terror, anchored by a hauntingly nuanced performance from the unnamed actress portraying Hidimba. The film’s deliberate pacing allows the forest to become a character in its own right, though at times the narrative drifts into ambiguity. Its thematic focus on the clash between ancient superstition and contemporary alienation makes it a compelling, if imperfect, entry in the modern myth‑horror canon.
