The CinePearl Take

Maignan’s direction is both patient and precise, allowing the natural world to dictate the film’s tempo rather than forcing a conventional narrative arc. The pacing mirrors the subject’s own compression of time, creating a subtle tension that builds as the day unfolds. While there are no on‑screen personalities, the collective voices of scientists and locals provide a resonant emotional core, making the documentary feel surprisingly intimate.
