Why Watch This
Marcos Pimentel captures the quiet desperation of a dwindling fishing village with a visual poetry that feels both intimate and expansive. The film’s sound design—where the hush of the tide becomes a character—draws you into a world where silence speaks louder than dialogue.
Best For
Drama lovers, Portuguese cinema fans, Eco‑thriller enthusiasts, Slow‑burn viewers, Art‑house audiences
The CinePearl Take
Pimentel’s direction is deliberately measured, allowing the landscape to breathe while the narrative unfurls like a tide. Rita Campos, as the mute fisherwoman Maria, delivers a hauntingly expressive performance that anchors the film’s emotional core. The pacing may test impatient viewers, but it rewards those who savor mood over plot twists, and the recurring motif of shells as silent witnesses adds a lyrical layer to the story.
