The CinePearl Take

While the film leans heavily on jump scares, its strength lies in the atmospheric dread that builds around the cursed phone. Ethan Hawke delivers a quietly menacing turn as the enigmatic antagonist, and Graham Abbey’s raw, terrified performance anchors the emotional core. The pacing is deliberately uneven, allowing tension to simmer before unleashing brutal set‑pieces that underscore the theme of childhood trauma turned supernatural.
