Why Watch This

It offers a razor‑sharp, behind‑the‑scenes look at the world of street art, guided by the elusive Banksy himself. The film blurs the line between documentary and performance, turning the rise of Thierry “Mr. Brainwash” Guetta into a wild commentary on fame, authenticity, and the commodification of rebellion.

Best For

Street‑art fans, Documentary lovers, Indie film buffs, Art students, Subculture enthusiasts, Dark‑humor seekers

The CinePearl Take

Banksy’s dead‑pan narration keeps the film’s pacing brisk while letting the absurdity of Mr. Brainwash’s meteoric rise do the heavy lifting. Thierry Guetta’s transformation—from obsessive videographer to self‑proclaimed art mogul—is both hilarious and unsettling, highlighting how quickly counter‑culture can be co‑opted. The cameo appearances by Zevs, Swoon, and Invader feel like a roll‑call of the movement’s most charismatic figures, each adding texture without stealing focus. Ultimately, the documentary asks whether the art is any less genuine when it’s sold in galleries, a question that lingers long after the credits roll.
