The CinePearl Take
Tilda Swinton delivers a tour‑de‑force performance, embodying a mother whose love is both fierce and fractured, while the supporting cast provides unsettling counterpoints. Ramsay’s deliberate pacing lets dread accumulate like a slow‑burning fuse, never allowing a moment of respite. The film’s thematic focus on guilt, complicity, and the limits of empathy makes it a profoundly unsettling yet intellectually rewarding experience.
