The CinePearl Take
The film’s strength lies in its collective voice; each segment, though brief, carries the weight of personal testimony, especially the haunting vignette by director Hany Abu‑Assad that lingers long after the credits roll. The pacing deliberately shifts from frantic city streets to quiet, intimate moments, mirroring the unpredictable rhythm of life in the region. While the lack of a singular narrative can feel disjointed, it reinforces the anthology’s purpose: to present a mosaic of truth rather than a tidy story.
