The CinePearl Take
Hüneke’s patient lens lets the documentary breathe, allowing moments of quiet reflection to sit alongside high‑energy performance footage. The standout is the heartfelt testimony of veteran queen “Mara Lune,” whose vulnerability anchors the film’s theme of chosen family. While the pacing occasionally lingers, the thematic payoff—showcasing resilience through art—makes the journey worthwhile.
