The CinePearl Take
Palkowski’s direction is his strongest asset, turning a relatively simple premise into a relentless cat‑and‑mouse game. The film’s pacing is deliberately measured, allowing the dread to build until it erupts in a series of gut‑wrenching set‑pieces. Although the cast remains anonymous, the ensemble delivers a raw, unvarnished performance that anchors the story’s moral ambiguity. Thematically, Gorky Resort explores how ordinary lives are weaponized by an omnipresent surveillance state, a resonant echo for today’s digital age.
