The CinePearl Take
Shonali Bose balances humor and heartbreak with a measured pace that lets Laila’s inner world breathe. Koechlin’s raw, unflinching honesty anchors the film, while Revathi adds a grounding, maternal counterpoint. The story’s biggest triumph is its refusal to reduce Laila to her disability, instead celebrating her as a fully realized, flawed, and passionate person.
