The CinePearl Take

Wagner Moura delivers a steely, haunted performance as Captain Nascimento, anchoring the film’s brutal realism. Padilha’s tight pacing never lets the tension slack, while the script forces viewers to confront uncomfortable truths about power and loyalty. The film’s stark cinematography and gritty sound design amplify its critique of institutional decay, making it a compelling, if unsettling, experience.
