The CinePearl Take
Marion Cotillard gives a career‑defining performance, embodying both ferocity and fragility as a whale trainer forced to reinvent herself. Matthias Schoenaerts provides a grounded counterpoint, his quiet intensity anchoring the film’s emotional core. The deliberate pacing lets the audience inhabit their pain, while the recurring motif of the sea underscores themes of survival and transformation.
