The CinePearl Take
Priessner’s patient pacing lets each handwritten word breathe, turning static documents into living testimony. The decision to forgo traditional narration in favor of spoken‑word actors reading the letters adds an unexpected emotional depth. While the visual palette is deliberately muted, it underscores the stark reality behind the ink. The film’s strength lies in its reverence for the ordinary voices that history often overlooks.
