The CinePearl Take

Kang Yoon‑sung’s direction keeps the momentum brisk, never allowing the tension to dip even as the story delves into the chaotic streets of Garibong‑dong. Ma Dong‑sek’s performance is the film’s engine, delivering both raw intimidation and a surprisingly warm, every‑man charm that humanizes the relentless pursuit. Supporting actors—especially Yoon Kye‑sang’s slick, volatile gangster—add layers of menace that elevate the conflict beyond a simple cop‑versus‑crook narrative. Ultimately, the movie shines by balancing brutal action with a sly, darkly comic tone, making its violence feel purposeful rather than gratuitous.
