Why Watch This
Gabriel Mascaro paints a stark, hyper‑real vision of a water‑scarce megacity where citizens barter memories for access to the last clean rivers. The film’s immersive sound design and kinetic long takes make the oppression feel viscerally personal.
Best For
Dystopia fans, Eco‑thriller enthusiasts, Art‑house viewers, Festival goers, Thought‑provoking cinema lovers
The CinePearl Take
Mascaro’s decision to cast real water‑workers adds an unsettling authenticity that anchors the speculative premise. The pacing is deliberately uneven, mirroring the erratic flow of the city’s illegal water routes, and the recurring motif of cracked glass reflects fractured identities. The film’s central theme—how scarcity reshapes morality—resonates long after the credits roll.
