The CinePearl Take
The film’s most striking element is the seamless integration of Knef’s own voice recordings, which lend an unsettling intimacy to her on‑screen presence. The director balances glossy period design with gritty backstage moments, allowing the story’s pacing to ebb and flow like a stage performance. Themes of self‑invention and the price of fame resonate powerfully, even as the script occasionally stumbles over its experimental ambitions.
