The CinePearl Take
Kartiki Gonsalves crafts a patient, almost meditative pace that mirrors the slow, deliberate movements of the forest itself, allowing the viewer to settle into the rhythm of the mahouts’ lives. The subtle performances of the real‑life family—especially the tender patience of the teenage son—anchor the film’s emotional core. Visually, the film balances sweeping aerial shots with close‑ups that capture the elephant’s expressive eyes, reinforcing the theme that empathy transcends species.
