Why Watch This
“One More Chance” captures the exuberance of early sound‑era musical comedy, letting a young Bing Crosby showcase the velvety baritone that would soon make him a household name. The film’s blend of slap‑slap comedy and earnest song‑and‑dance numbers offers a nostalgic glimpse into the transition from silent shorts to full‑blown talkies.

The CinePearl Take
Crosby’s performance is the film’s true magnet, his effortless crooning turning even the simplest melody into a moment of charm. Mack Sennett’s direction leans on his trademark slap‑stick, but the pacing remains surprisingly breezy, allowing the musical set‑pieces to breathe. While the storyline—an errant lover getting a second chance at romance—feels thin, the film’s earnest optimism and period‑specific production design make it a worthwhile artifact of early Hollywood musical experimentation.
