Why Watch This

The film offers a raw, off‑beat look at a small Tamil village where a wayward son, dubbed “Baba”, returns home after a stint in the city, forcing his traditional family to confront secrets and generational clash. Its blend of dark humor and heartfelt drama makes it a fresh take on the classic “black sheep” narrative.

The CinePearl Take

Rajmohan Arumugam’s debut is anchored by a surprisingly nuanced performance from the unknown lead, whose understated charisma carries the film’s uneven pacing. While the screenplay meanders in the second act, the film’s visual texture—captured by natural lighting and tight close‑ups—adds an authentic grit. Thematically, it explores the tension between modern aspirations and rural obligations, delivering moments that linger long after the credits.
