The CinePearl Take

Linda Hamilton shines as the headstrong mayor who must swallow her pride to protect her citizens, while Pierce Brosnan brings a cool, science‑driven heroism that feels fresh amid the chaos. The pacing balances methodical build‑up with sudden, jaw‑dropping eruptions, making the tension feel relentless but never exhausting. At its core, the film is a cautionary tale about hubris and the fragile line between human ambition and nature’s raw power.
