The CinePearl Take
Lead actress Anna Müller (name invented for illustration) delivers a quietly riveting performance as a widowed schoolteacher confronting her past, anchoring the film’s emotional core. Hierzegger’s pacing is deliberate, allowing each lingering sunrise to breathe, while the recurring motif of fading chrysanthemums underscores the theme of impermanence. The understated script lets visual storytelling do the heavy lifting, rewarding viewers who appreciate nuance over plot.
