The CinePearl Take
Franco Gasparri delivers a brooding, almost nihilistic lead performance that anchors the film’s chaotic atmosphere. Ragona and Salkow’s direction swings between deliberate dread and frantic zombie chase, creating an uneven but oddly hypnotic pacing. The film’s thematic clash of immortality versus desolation feels ahead of its time, even if the production values betray its 1964 origins.
