Why Watch This
Matías Ferreyra crafts a tender, almost lyrical portrait of a grieving widower whose only solace comes from the unpredictable companionship of two stray dogs. The film’s quiet visual poetry and the dogs’ subtle choreography turn an ordinary house into a stage for emotional rebirth.
Best For
Indie drama fans, Dog lovers, Slow‑burn enthusiasts, Emotional storytelling, Film festival goers, Latin American cinema fans
The CinePearl Take
Ferreyra’s direction is deliberately unhurried, allowing each lingering shot to breathe and the audience to feel the weight of loss. Lead actor Juan Pérez delivers a restrained, heartbreaking performance that never feels melodramatic, while the two canine leads, trained by local animal handlers, act as silent narrators of hope. The film’s pacing may test impatient viewers, but its thematic focus on healing through non‑human connection is both moving and resonant.
