The CinePearl Take

Director Alex Monroe crafts a slow‑burn narrative that never rushes, allowing the tension of each reel change to echo the protagonist’s inner turmoil. The lone performance by an unnamed projectionist is a masterclass in subtlety, conveying dread with a single glance at the flickering light. Themes of memory, obsolescence, and the power of storytelling are woven through every frame, making the film feel both intimate and universal.
