Why Watch This
It dramatizes one of Mumbai’s most infamous police‑gangster confrontations with relentless gun‑fights and a raw, street‑level feel. The film’s ensemble cast, especially Sanjay Dutt’s chilling turn as Maya Dolas, brings a gritty realism that keeps the tension high from start to finish.
Best For
Action fans, Crime drama lovers, Bollywood enthusiasts, Real‑life crime story fans, Fans of gritty police thrillers
The CinePearl Take
Apoorva Lakhia’s direction captures the chaos of the 1991 Lokhandwala shootout without romanticising it, letting the narrative breathe in moments of uneasy calm. Sanjay Dutt delivers a magnetic, almost sympathetic villain, while Amitabh Bachchan’s stoic ACP Pradyuman anchors the police side with gravitas. The pacing is brisk, though the film occasionally leans on melodramatic set‑pieces that undercut its otherwise hard‑edged tone. Still, its unflinching look at law‑and‑order versus underworld loyalty makes it a standout in the genre.
