The CinePearl Take
Director Lee Joon‑ho crafts a relentless, almost documentary‑style pace that never lets the audience breathe, mirroring the suffocating atmosphere of the corridors of power. The lead—an enigmatic newcomer—delivers a chilling performance, embodying the moral ambiguity at the heart of the story. While the plot occasionally leans on genre conventions, its incisive commentary on surveillance capitalism and political compromise keeps it compelling. The film’s stark visual palette reinforces the bleakness of a nation on the brink.
