Why Watch This
It’s a quirky, high‑altitude caper that mixes slapstick comedy with a dash of 1980s adventure swagger. Elliott Gould’s wry turn as a down‑on‑his‑luck pilot gives the film a charismatic anchor that keeps the absurd plot from drifting into pure nonsense.
Best For
Adventure fans, Comedy lovers, 80s nostalgia, Road‑trip enthusiasts, Family‑friendly viewers
The CinePearl Take
Director Charles Jarrott delivers a breezy, if uneven, ride that leans heavily on the chemistry between Gould and the earnest young Tammy Lauren. Gould’s deadpan delivery shines in the film’s most ridiculous set‑pieces, turning potential silliness into charm. The pacing stumbles midway, but the final “ark‑launch” sequence restores momentum and gives the story a satisfying, if cheesy, climax. The movie’s underlying theme of second chances feels oddly resonant amid the chaos.
