Why Watch This

Raees offers a gritty, underworld saga set in 1990s Gujarat, anchored by Shah Rukh Khan’s charismatic turn as a bootlegger who rises from street‑level hustler to a feared kingpin. The film mixes high‑octane action with a sharp look at power, politics, and moral ambiguity, making it a compelling watch for fans of intense crime dramas.

Best For

Action fans, Crime drama lovers, Shah Rukh Khan fans, Fans of gritty Indian cinema, Anti‑hero enthusiasts, Fans of Nawazuddin Siddiqui

The CinePearl Take

Shah Rukh Khan delivers a surprisingly restrained, smoky performance as the titular Raees, balancing street‑wise charm with cold ambition. Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s turn as the relentless cop adds a layer of moral complexity that elevates the cat‑and‑mouse chase. While the film’s pacing stays brisk and the action set‑pieces impress, the melodramatic climax feels a touch contrived, yet the exploration of ambition, lawlessness, and societal constraints remains compelling.
