Why Watch This
A coffee‑driven odyssey through a restless Berlin, “A Coffee in Berlin” captures the quiet absurdity of a generation searching for meaning in the mundane. Its dead‑pan humor and striking black‑and‑white cinematography make a simple day feel like a cinematic meditation.
Best For
Indie lovers, Urban explorers, Mood‑driven evenings, German cinema fans, Fans of quiet comedy
The CinePearl Take
Jakob Bieber’s understated turn as Niko anchors the film; his listless charm lets the audience feel every missed connection and fleeting hope. Gerster’s pacing is deliberately slow, letting Berlin itself become a character that mirrors Niko’s inner drift. The film’s minimalist plot highlights themes of alienation, friendship, and the elusive search for purpose, all while delivering a handful of genuinely funny moments.
